Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son has expressed his delight after scoring his second brace of the season in as many away league games in his side’s 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The South Korean international, who scored twice in the 4-0 win at Stoke City earlier in the month, opened the scoring at the Riverside Stadium in the seventh minute.

Son then doubled Spurs’ advantage 16 minutes later before the hosts pulled one back through Ben Gibson after the break.

And the 24-year-old, who was extremely pleased to help his side bag the full three points at the weekend, went on to thank his team-mates for managing to protect their slender lead after the going got tough in the second half.

"It was unbelievable, scoring two away goals against Middlesbrough after scoring two at Stoke, twice in a row in away games”, he told Spurs TV.

“I’m very happy to score two goals and get the three points.

"It wasn’t easy in the second half because they scored in the 20th minute [of the second half] and then we had to defend.

“The most important thing is the three points. It was a difficult game, we defended well after they scored and I’m thankful for my team-mates."

Son, who joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, has scored four goals in as many appearances in all competitions in the present campaign.

He also has 46 caps and 16 goals for South Korea to his name.
