Leeds United head coach Garry Monk wants to guard against getting carried away by his side’s current form, and has stressed that they need to put their best foot forward against Bristol City tonight.

After a lacklustre start to the season, Leeds have picked up form over the last fortnight, and have won four games on the trot, including an EFL Cup third round victory over Blackburn Rovers.

High on confidence, Leeds have been backed to score another three points tonight against Bristol City, who are a point ahead of the Monk’s men in the Championship standings.

However, the Leeds boss is refusing to get carried away by his side’s recent run of form, and admits that he is aware that anything can happen in the Championship on any given day.

He wants his side to focus on the task of playing Bristol City away from home, and wants them to be confident about getting a result at Ashton Gate.

He told the club’s official website: “It’s still early days for us – this league has a way of bringing you back down to earth and we’ve got to really manage that and be balanced and focused during the next games.

“Bristol City will be an extremely difficult game – they’re in very good form and they’re a good team.

“We have to be ready, but we go down there with confidence and we’ll look to put our game on the pitch.”

Leeds earned a point in a 2-2 draw against Bristol City last season at Ashton Gate.
