Leeds United withdrew Pontus Jansson at half time of their 1-0 defeat at Bristol City this evening as a precaution, Garry Monk has revealed.

Jansson was brought off at the break at Ashton Gate and replaced by Liam Cooper, who partnered Kyle Bartley in the centre of defence for the Whites.

The Sweden international has had a huge impact at Leeds since he arrived on loan from Torino in the summer transfer window.

And Whites boss Monk confirmed after the Bristol City game that Jansson was brought off as a precaution as he felt a tweak in his hamstring.

"Taking him off was precautionary", Monk explained to LUTV.

"He felt a bit of tightness in the hamstring."

Monk will now be hoping that Jansson's hamstring niggle is not too serious as Leeds prepare to welcome Barnsley to Elland Road at the weekend.

Should Jansson miss the visit of Barnsley, he will then have the international break to recover as Leeds are not then again in action until 15th October, when they visit the iPro Stadium to take on Derby County.

Leeds' defeat at Ashton Gate has brought to an end a winning run for the Whites, which saw the side win four matches on the bounce in all competitions.
