Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son has been threatened with being dropped from the South Korea squad, with coach Uli Stielike unhappy with his behaviour.

Earlier this month Son was brought off during a World Cup qualifier against China, with South Korea battling to hold on to a 3-2 advantage. The Spurs man did not take kindly to being replaced and kicked a water bottle, while he then shared words with Stielike and kicked the ground.

It was not the first time Son had reacted to being brought off. In June the forward threw a towel at the bench when he was substituted in a friendly loss against Spain – he apologised for his behaviour.

Stielike is not pleased with Son's attitude and has warned the forward he is risking being dropped from the national side.

"As many people have already seen from the stands or on television, I think his behaviour away from the field can be problematic", the German tactician was quoted as saying by new agency AFP.

"Unless he gets his act together and changes his attitude, I will have to think about the rest of the team as the coach.

"All players have to be careful", the 61-year-old added.

Despite his warnings, Stielike has selected Son in his South Korea squad for World Cup qualifying matches next month against Qatar and Iran.

At club level, Son was strongly linked with leaving Tottenham in the summer transfer window as Wolfsburg chased his signature.

He stayed put though and has featured on a regular basis for Spurs in the current campaign.
