Veteran Dutch coach Aad de Mos feels that Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen is going through a dip in form – and the 69-year-old is not surprised.

Spurs swooped to snap up Janssen from AZ Alkmaar in the summer transfer window and he joined the White Hart Lane outfit having top scored in his first season in the Dutch top flight; AZ signed Janssen from second tier side Almere City in 2015.

Janssen has also been capped for the Netherlands national team and De Mos thinks the 22-year-old's rapid rise is now starting to catch up on him.

He was ineffective in Spurs' Champions League game in Russia against CSKA Moscow earlier this week and was brought off by Mauricio Pochettino in the 67th minute.

Spurs are looking for Janssen to fill in during Harry Kane's absence – but De Mos feels his countryman is undergoing a dip in form.

He said on Dutch broadcaster Ziggo: "That [the pressure] is great.

"It is all new and it's all happened quickly.

"Feyenoord to Almere City and to AZ and then your transfer [to Tottenham].

"Also the Netherlands national team.

"Then you can get a dip in form.

"I hope it comes good", De Mos added.

Janssen will be hoping he turns the tide this coming weekend when Manchester City visit White Hart Lane in a Premier League clash.
