Pep Guardiola has explained that he is expecting the Celtic that thrashed Rangers 5-1 recent to turn up at Paradise when his Manchester City side step onto the pitch for a Champions League clash this evening.

The Hoops, who thrashed Rangers 5-1 in the Scottish Premiership on 10th September, were routed 7-0 by Barcelona in the Champions League just days later.

Since that heavy loss at Barcelona, Celtic are unbeaten in three games in all competitions, winning two and drawing one.

And Guardiola, whose Manchester City team have won all their matches this season, insisted that he feels Celtic will try to replicate their performance against Rangers by playing a high-pressing and intense game versus the Citizens.

“I saw the game against Rangers here and how intense they were, and it was completely different to how they played in Barcelona where they were more passive”, the Spaniard said in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

“They were so aggressive against Rangers, with high-pressing and that’s the game I expect.”

Celtic, who have returned to the group stage of the Champions League for the first time in two years, are currently four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a game in hand.
