Charlie Taylor has revealed that he and his Leeds United team-mates were “absolutely gutted” following their 1-0 loss to Bristol City in a Championship fixture on Tuesday night.

The Whites, who headed into the game on the back of four consecutive wins in all competitions, were well in the game for most parts of the match at Ashton Gate.

However, Marlon Pack’s goal on the hour mark proved to be the difference between the sides, bringing an end to Leeds' winning run.

And Taylor, who feels the Yorkshire giants deserved to return home with at least a point, expressed his disappointment at the final result.

“Gutted, everyone inside the changing room is absolutely gutted”, he said on BBC Radio Leeds.

“It was a game we felt we should have got something from, at least a point if not all three.”

Leeds, who will next face Barnsley at Elland Road on Saturday before the international break kicks start, currently find themselves 14th in the standings with 13 points from 10 games, four points adrift of the final playoff spot.

And Taylor is relishing Barnsley's visit.

"It should be a good game", he said.

"They've started off well. It's a big game, Yorkshire derby. One we'll want to win and take into the international break."

Garry Monk’s side have also reached the fourth round of the EFL Cup, where they will face Norwich City in late October.
