Rangers winger Barrie McKay admits that playing regularly in the starting eleven this season has been a bonus for him.

The 21-year-old winger has made a name for himself since starring for Rangers in the Championship last season, and also scored a few scorchers, including a wonder strike against Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final earlier this year.

Mark Warburton signed a number of players during the summer transfer window, and it seemed that McKay could struggle to get into the starting eleven regularly this season.

However, the 21-year-old has continued to play in the starting eleven for the Gers this term, and McKay admits that after such a busy summer, starting regularly has been a big shot in the arm for him.

And he is keen to continue to improve in order to maintain his place in the team.

McKay told Rangers TV: “Yes he [Warburton] has brought in a lot of players and in other areas of the pitch as well.

“To be able to keep playing in the starting eleven has been a real bonus for me.

"And I just need to keep improving as the season goes on.”

The winger has made 13 appearances for the club this season, scoring once and assisting seven goals.
