Craig Gordon has urged Celtic to replicate their performance in the 3-3 draw with Manchester City on Wednesday night in their remaining Champions League group stage matches.

The Scottish champions, who were thrashed 7-0 by Barcelona in their Champions League opener earlier in the month, put in a much improved display against the Citizens.

Celtic went ahead on three occasions against Pep Guardiola’s side, but failed to protect their lead even once as they had to be satisfied with just a point.

However, Gordon, who was pleased with Celtic opening their account in the Champions League, now wants his side to put in similar strong performances in their four remaining Group C games.

“Yes, we will have to”, he told Celtic TV, when asked if the Bhoys will try to replicate their performance against Manchester City going forward.

“The quality of the group in which we are in is very high and we need to play to those levels to take more points which we’re looking to do.

“We’ve got off the mark and hopefully we can continue that in the next match.”

Celtic’s next Champions League outing will be against Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach, who are have lost their opening two matches against Manchester City and Barcelona respectively.

Brendan Rodgers’ team are currently third in Group C with one point from two games.
