Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet’s former coach Jos Beckx believes the Belgian did nothing wrong when it comes to being dropped from the starting eleven.

Mignolet’s place in the Liverpool starting eleven came under threat when Klopp snapped up Loris Karius in the summer, but the German suffered an injury, which kept the Belgian’s place in the team safe at the start of the season.

However, the 28-year-old goalkeeper found himself on the bench last weekend when Karius made his Premier League debut in Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Hull City at Anfield.

The Belgian has received flak from some of his flaky performances over the seasons, but his former coach Beckx feels Mignolet did little wrong this season, which could have explained his place on the bench against Hull.

The 51-year-old told Voetbal Krant: “Simon can’t be blamed.
