Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn has called for his team to build on their performances from in recent games, which he feels have been far more in tune with the club's style of play.

The Gers have been left disappointed in the course of their last four league matches, losing two and drawing the other two.

While expressing his disappointment with the results, the 26-year-old said that the requirement for the team is to build on those performances.

According to Waghorn, recent performances have seen the style of play closer to that Rangers are looking for. The difference that the striker feels his team need to make for their next match against Partick Thistle on Saturday is to try and get off to a good start and try not to let last weekend's disappointment affect them.

“It’s all about building on the last two or three performances", Waghorn told his club's official website.

"Obviously the results haven’t been what we wanted, but in terms of how we have played, it’s been a lot more like what we are used to.

“It’s important we get off to a good start, and try not to let Sunday’s disappointment affect us too much.

"It’s gone and we’ll learn from it – we’ll go over the game and analyse it, take the positives and the negatives from it and work for it."

The only aim for Rangers will be the three points available, and the former Sunderland striker insists that his team have been working hard in training in order to get things back on track.

“It’s a great opportunity to bounce back with three points, and the boys have been working just as hard this week to rectify things, and we all look forward to the game.”
