Partick Thistle boss Alan Archibald is sure his side have the players to do real damage to Rangers at Ibrox this weekend, though he believes the Gers are improving.

Mark Warburton's men are under growing pressure after going four Scottish Premiership games without a win, something which means the Gers are desperate to beat Archibald's side to get back on the horse.

The Partick Thistle boss feels Rangers are playing good football and pointed to their narrow defeat at Aberdeen last weekend as evidence of an improving Ibrox outfit.

He is confident though that he has the players to do damage to Warburton's team, who have been defensively shaky at times this term and have been criticised as a result.

"I've been quite impressed", Archibald was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"I like the way they set the team up to play football, I admire the way they play.

"They have taken a bit of time to get going. I know their results in the past couple of games haven't been great, but I think they are starting to motor now.

"Last week against Aberdeen, at times they were very good", the Thistle boss continued.

"We know we will need to be at our best to get a result, but we know we have flair, pace and creativity in our team to hurt them", he warned.

Rangers head into the match sitting in just seventh place in the 12-team Premiership table – Thistle meanwhile are bottom of the pile.
