Young Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2019.

The 18-year-old has been a regular member of Tottenham's matchday squads this season and made his debut for the Londoners in their EFL Cup win against Gillingham last week.

His contributions to the club have not been limited to senior level only, with the academy graduate playing regularly for Tottenham's Under-18 and Under-21 sides, often wearing the skipper's armband.

Carter-Vickers has also been active on the international scene, having played for the United States' Under-18, Under-20 and Under-23 teams. He was in fact a member of the US national side at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015.

Expressing his delight at having been given the opportunity to sign a new deal, the youngster told his club's official channel: "Obviously the new deal shows that the manager has faith in me.

"I've been here since I was ten or eleven, just working hard and trying to get to this stage now. Obviously I want to push on more but it means a lot.

"It's taking your game up another level and getting that little bit better.

In my opinion, we have two of the best centre backs in the league here. So to train with them everyday and watch them play, I can only learn from them and it can only make me better", Carter-Vickers added.
