Antonio Conte feels he learned a lot about his Chelsea side from their defeats to top four rivals Arsenal and Liverpool.

Chelsea were flying in the Premier League until they dropped two points with just a 2-2 draw away at Swansea City, a result which was quickly followed by a 2-1 home loss against Liverpool and a 3-0 defeat away to Arsenal.

The Blues will bid to get back on track this weekend when they travel to face newly promoted Hull City.

While Chelsea fans have been disappointed with defeats to Arsenal and Liverpool, Conte feels the results showed him how much work needs to be done to drive the Blues back up towards the top of the Premier League.

The former Italy coach insists he cannot wave a magic wand on the squad however and hard work is what is required, with a dose of realism, with Chelsea having finished just tenth last season.

"It is never good when you lose, but I think also in these two games we saw and learnt a lot of important things. We must work very hard to recover", Conte told a press conference this afternoon.

"We finished 10th last season; when you finish 10th it means you have problems. Now we are trying to solve this situation, but we have not a magic wand.

"We faced two teams who were very strong and for me, these two teams are now at the top. We have a lot to improve, but this is the hope we must have", the Italian added.

Chelsea will want to beat Hull on Saturday to head into the international break in good heart, while when they return their remaining matches in October are Leicester City (home), Manchester United (home), West Ham (away, EFL Cup) and Southampton (away).

At present, Conte's men sit in eighth spot in the Premier League table with ten points from six games.
