Mauricio Pochettino plans to assess his players on Saturday to see who is available to face Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Spurs were in action in midweek as they edged out CSKA Moscow in Russia to record their first Champions League group stage win of the campaign.

Several players did not travel to Russia, with notably Eric Dier, Moussa Dembele, Danny Rose and Moussa Sissoko all missing – and Pochettino is not yet able to say which, if any, of the four will be fit for the Manchester City game.

"We are positive, but we need to assess all of the players tomorrow to see if they are in a good condition to play", the Spurs manager told a press conference this afternoon.

The Spurs boss was also asked about the possibility of him taking over the England job, left vacant after the departure of Sam Allardyce 67 days into his reign, earlier this week.

"Yes, why not?

"Not now. It is impossible", Pochettino continued.

"I signed a new contract here. It is not my moment [for that]."

Pochettino led Spurs to a finish of third spot in the Premier League last season and in the current campaign he again has his side flying, sitting in second place behind Manchester City.

Spurs have a chance to make a statement of intent over their title credentials when Manchester City come to town on Sunday.
