Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could have Harry Kane back sooner than expected after a second scan on his ankle showed good results.

Kane was forced off towards the end of Spurs' 1-0 win over Sunderland on 18th October and was quickly ruled out for a lengthy period due to an ankle injury.

But Spurs have continued to keep a close eye on the striker's injury and a second scan has yielded more positive news for the White Hart Lane outfit, leading to expectations he could be back ahead of schedule.

Pochettino explained via his club's site: "The news is good on Harry, it’s [his time out] less than we expected from the beginning.

"The second scan was positive. He will work hard and try to be available as quickly as possible", the Spurs boss added.

Vincent Janssen has been filling in during Kane's absence, but the Dutchman has been largely overshadowed by South Korea international Heung-Min Son stepping up to the plate.

Son struck twice for Spurs in their 2-1 win away at Middlesbrough last weekend, while he was again on target in midweek as Pochettino's men beat CSKA Moscow in Russia in the Champions League by a single goal.

The forward came close to leaving White Hart Lane in the summer after being chased by Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.
