Leeds United boss Garry Monk has vowed to use the international break to further improve his squad, following the Whites' fifth win in six games on Saturday.

Monk guided his side to a 2-1 win over Barnsley at Elland Road in a Yorkshire derby, in the process recording his side's fifth win in six games, as they start to take off under his leadership.

The former Swansea City manager is not satisfied though and has vowed to use the international break, which means Leeds are not now next in action until 15th October, to further improve his squad.

Monk posted a photograph of himself applauding the Leeds faithful and wrote: "Glad to get a deserved win going into the international break.

"We now need to use the coming days to keep on improving", the 37-year-old added.

Monk was under real pressure earlier this season after the Whites lost four of their opening six Championship matches to sit in the relegation zone.

Now the Yorkshire giants are quickly improving and their win over Barnsley has moved them up to eleventh spot in the Championship standings.

After the international break, Leeds have a trip to Derby County on the menu.
