Rangers midfielder Josh Windass has confirmed he expects to be back for selection when the Gers play Inverness after the international break.

Windass, who picked up an injury in the pre-match warm-up before a Scottish League Cup tie against Queen of the South, was missing on Saturday as the Gers put Partick Thistle to the sword at Ibrox, running out 2-0 winners.

Rangers are not now back in action until after the international break when they travel to Inverness on Friday 14th October for a league fixture.

And Windass has confirmed he expects to be back by then. He wrote on Twitter, when asked when he will be back: "Inverness".

The midfielder, who joined the Gers from English League Two side Accrington Stanley in the summer transfer window, has been praised for his performances this season.

Windass was one of the few Rangers players to emerge from the club's 5-1 defeat to Celtic earlier this season with any credit.

The 22-year-old has made a total of five appearances in all competitions for Rangers this term, scoring once, in the League Cup.

Rangers have Windass locked down on a contract until the summer of 2020.
