Manchester United sent their chief scout Jim Lawlor to watch Genk’s Europa League encounter against Sassuolo on Thursday, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

It is believed that the Red Devils were scouting the Genk duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Leon Bailey.

Scouts from Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Leicester City, Arsenal and Southampton were also present at the Luminus Arena where Genk beat Sassuolo 3-0, courtesy of goals from Nikolaos Karelis, Bailey and Thomas Buffel.

Defensive midfielder Ndidi, who was also on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur, made his first team debut for Genk in the 2014/15 campaign, with the Nigerian international making 18 appearances in all competitions this season, while in total he has turned out 67 times for the club.

On the other hand, Jamaican winger Bailey, who joined Genk from Slovakian outfit AS Trencín in 2015, has been in prolific form in the present campaign, scoring eight times and providing four assists in 17 appearances in all competitions.
