Arsenal star Theo Walcott feels that new signing Shkodran Mustafi is already showing leadership skills.

The centre-back has been in great form for the Gunners since joining the club from Valencia for around £35m in the summer.

Mustafi, who put in a rock-solid performance in the 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday, has thus far made six appearances in all competitions for Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger’s team are unbeaten in five of the six games Mustafi has featured in thus far, winning five of those.

The Germany international has also provided Arsenal with a calming influence in defence, with the north London outfit conceding just three goals in the six games he played, in addition to keeping three clean sheets.

And Walcott, who thinks Mustafi has struck up a solid central defensive partnership with Laurent Koscielny, feels Arsenal are benefitting from the 24-year-old’s leadership qualities.

"Shkodran Mustafi gets people up for games. If you’re not doing something right he tells you”, Walcott was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.

"And that’s great. He's a German international and that's the way he is. He’s at a completely different level at this time.

"He and Laurent Koscielny have been fantastic centre-backs. They have a very good relationship and it bodes well."

Mustafi, who counts Everton and Sampdoria amongst his former employers, has also represented Germany 13 times.
