Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is happy with Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris captaining the France national team, explaining the custodian offers essential leadership to Les Bleus.

Koscielny has been pulling on the armband for Arsenal at club level this season and would be a contender for the captaincy for France, if the position were available.

Lloris is firmly entrenched as captain, having done the role on a permanent basis since 2012, while he also pulls on the armband at White Hart Lane with Tottenham.

Koscielny feels that Lloris is a superb captain and the armband suits him.

"The armband goes very well with Hugo", Koscielny told a press conference while on France duty.
