Stabaek sporting director Inge Andre Olsen has backed new Swansea City boss Bob Bradley to succeed in the Premier League.

The Swans, who sacked Francesco Guidolin on Monday after a poor start to the 2016/17 campaign, replaced the Italian with Bradley.

Bradley counts the United States and Egypt amongst his former employers and was also in charge of the Norwegian outfit Stabaek between 2014 and 2015.

And Olsen is of the opinion that Bradley, who is the first American to manage in the Premier League, has it in him to be a successful manager in the English top flight.

“No, he's more than good enough for that [the Premier League]”, Olsen told Norwegian channel TV2, when asked if he was surprised with Swansea’s decision to appoint Bradley.

“Bradley truly deserves it. He has worked hard for many years and has the qualities to lead teams in the best leagues.

“It’s great that he has a chance to do it [manage a Premier League side], even though the road might have been a little difficult for him considering that he is an American.”

Swansea, who were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool at the weekend, are winless in their last six outings in all competitions, losing five of those.

The Welsh club presently find themselves just above the relegation zone on goal difference, with the Liberty Stadium outfit having just four points from seven league games.
