Liverpool are exploring the option of signing Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia on loan in January, according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The Reds have made a rousing start to their Premier League campaign, but manager Jurgen Klopp is not sitting idle and is already planning to add players to his squad during the January transfer window.

One of the players the Reds are eyeing during the winter transfer window is Inter midfielder Kondogbia, but it has been claimed that they are only interested in a loan move at the moment.

Inter splashed out big money on the player last year, but the midfielder has found life a little tougher under new manager Frank de Boer and has not been a guaranteed starter this season.

The Nerazzurri could be open to doing business with Liverpool in January, though are expected to demand an obligatory purchase option be inserted into any deal to loan out the Frenchman to the Merseyside giants.

The Reds are still just exploring the idea of signing the midfielder and are yet to take any concrete steps to take the Frenchman to Anfield in January.

Kondogbia joined Inter from Monaco last year and has clocked up 34 appearances for the club.

He has a contract until 2020 with the Serie A giants.
