Xherdan Shaqiri's brother, who also acts as his agent, says it is too soon to speak about what the Stoke City man might want to do in the winter transfer window.

The Switzerland international has been linked with Italian Serie A giants Roma, who may be lining up a swoop for his services, especially as Mohamed Salah is expected to be in action at the African Cup of Nations in the new year.

And with Stoke sitting second bottom of the Premier League and staring at a potential relegation battle, a switch to Roma might be attractive for Shaqiri.

But now is not the time to think about it, Erdin Shaqiri insists.

"The only thing for certain is that Xherdan is focused on Stoke City", Erdin explained to Corriere dello Sport.

Xherdan has experience of Italian football, having enjoyed a brief and unhappy spell with Inter in 2015, before moving on to Stoke.

The Potters splashed out a substantial £12m to sign the winger from Inter and it remains to be seen whether they would do business with Roma when the winter transfer window swings open.
