Representatives of Brazilian talent Guilherme Arana held a positive meeting with Tottenham Hotspur officials on Tuesday afternoon, with the White Hart Lane side indicating they wish to continue talks.

The young left-back, who is currently under contract at Corinthians in Brazil, has been attracting attention from Bundesliga side Schalke, but Spurs are quickly moving into pole position by putting in the legwork required for any deal.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Spurs' meeting with Arana's representatives went well, with the Premier League club indicating they wish to continue talks.

No figures in terms of potential wages or length of a potential contact were talked about, but it was made clear to Spurs that Arana would be interested in moving to White Hart Lane.

The 19-year-old came through the youth ranks at Corinthians and has been capped by Brazil at Under-20 level.

Spurs currently have left-back options in the shape of Danny Rose and Ben Davies.

And a move to bring in Arana would mean three left-backs fighting for one slot in the side under boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Arana is under contract with Corinthians until the end of 2019.
