Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says he is not aware of whether the Bhoys have been holding discussions over taking part in an Atlantic League.

FC Copenhagen's chief executive has confirmed that talks have been held over potentially forming an Atlantic League, which would include clubs from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Holland and Scotland.

Celtic and Rangers would be expected to be included if the league did go ahead and it is a response to changes to the Champions League, which have guaranteed four group stage spots to the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga from 2018.

Clubs outside the elite leagues are worried about being increasingly shut out of the picture, but Rodgers says he is not aware of whether Celtic have been involved in Atlantic League discussions.

"I haven't got anything to say on it", Rodgers told a press conference when asked if he could confirm Celtic have been involved in Atlantic League talks.

Rodgers managed to guide Celtic to the Champions League group stage this season, after the Bhoys missed out under Ronny Deila two seasons running.

The Scottish champions recently turned on the style to hold Manchester City to a 3-3 draw at Celtic Park, recovering from losing their group stage opener 7-0 away at Barcelona.
