Leeds United midfielder Eunan O'Kane says the Whites only played for the last 25 minutes in their 1-0 defeat away at Derby County on Saturday afternoon.

Garry Monk's men headed into the Championship clash at the iPro Stadium having won five of their last six games in all competitions and high on confidence.

However, Derby were boosted by Steve McClaren taking over as manager and having his first game of his second spell in charge of the club against Leeds.

Derby scored the only goal of the game in the 56th minute as substitute Johnny Russell hit the back of the net following a corner. Leeds did have chances, with Marcus Antonsson and Kyle Bartley hitting the woodwork, but they came up short.

And for O'Kane, the real Leeds were not on display until the final 25 minutes at the iPro Stadium.

The Republic of Ireland international wrote on Twitter: "Disappointing result today, we didn't turn up until the last 25 mins.

"Great travelling support as well, have a safe journey home!"

Leeds snapped O'Kane up from Premier League side Bournemouth in the summer transfer window and he has quickly become a fixture in Monk's side at Elland Road.

The Yorkshire giants will try to bounce back from their loss at Derby when they entertain Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night.
