Stig Inge Bjornebye’s son Tobias has revealed his desire to follow in his father’s footsteps and play for Premier League giants Liverpool at some point in his career.

Tobias is currently a youth team player at Norwegian club Rosenborg, the club from which his father joined Liverpool in 1992.

Stig Inge currently works as the sporting director at Rosenborg, allowing him to keep a close eye on his son. He was a left-back as a player and amassed 157 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, helping the club to win the League Cup in the 1994/95 campaign.

On the other hand, Tobias is a striker and the youngster considers himself a more technically sound player than his father, who was more of a grafter.

And the starlet, who considers himself a “Scouser”, expressed his desire to play for Liverpool in the future in spite of knowing it will not be an easy journey.

“Dad was more of a tackler, I’ve got more technique [laughs]”, he told LFC TV.

“I’m a Liverpool supporter, I’m a Scouser. I want to play there one day, but it will be tough.

“I will try to work hard and [play for Liverpool].”

Stig Igne, who had loan spells at Rosenborg and Brondby during his time at Liverpool, left the Merseyside giants permanently for Blackburn Rovers in 2000.
