Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has revealed that an experienced player such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a positive contribution to the team’s morale.

The Premier League giants have hemorrhaged huge amounts of experience from the dressing room over the last few years with players such as Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs leaving the club or retiring from football.

Many have felt that the Red Devils have lacked leadership on the pitch for the past three seasons and Jose Mourinho has tried to pug that gap by bringing big personalities and characters such as Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba to the club.

And Shaw admits that the Swedish striker has indeed been a positive influence on Manchester United this season and feels the squad look more together because of the nice blend of experience and youth among their ranks.

Shaw said in a press conference: “When I came in there were a few big leaders that left.

“But if you look at the squad, we have some experienced ones, as well as younger players like me. Ibra brings a lot to the dressing room.

"He tells so many jokes and everyone wants to listen.

“It’s good for squad morale.

"I think it’s starting to show on the pitch that we are more together now as a team.”

While Ibrahimovic has suffered a recent dry spell in front of goal, the Swede has made his mark on the pitch this season and has six goals to his name for Manchester United.
