Leeds United boss Garry Monk feels that Wolverhampton Wanderers will pose threats to his side on Saturday, but also believes that the final outcome of the match will depend on the way the Whites perform on the day.

Wolves have been going through some troubling times and have slipped up to 16th spot in the league table after losing three out of four, with the latest being against Brighton on Tuesday.

Leeds' performances on the other hand have also undergone ups and downs, with the side being held to a 1-1 draw by relegation battlers Wigan in their last game the same night. Monk was also disappointed with a 1-0 away loss against Derby last weekend and believes that it was one match they should have come away with a better result in.

Looking ahead to their weekend opponents, the former Swansea manager said that Wolves are a team who spent a lot on players during the transfer window. However, the focus will solely remain on his team as they look to put their best game on the pitch.

“Wolves have spent a lot of money, they have got a big squad and it’s always a difficult place to go to, but we have to be focused on ourselves", Monk said at his pre-match press conference.

“We really have to keep focusing on our game, keep staying competitive, go down there determined and put a good performance on.

“We did what I felt was a good away performance against Derby that deserved something and we want to try and do something similar, but for sure maybe add a couple more bits to that performance and come away with a good result.

“That’s our determination and that’s our focus.

“We have to respect their strengths which they have got, but really try and put our game on the pitch – that’s what I focus on with my team every game.”
