Rangers custodian Matt Gilks has warned Celtic that the Gers have not yet played their best football, despite results having turned in their favour of late.

Mark Warburton's men, who are preparing to meet Celtic in a Scottish League Cup semi-final tie on Sunday, recently emerged from a sticky patch and have won back to back games, against Partick Thistle and Inverness, to boost confidence in the camp ahead of the big cup tie.

Gilks thinks that Rangers have been adequate of late, however he believes that there is still room for performances to improve and the Gers are not yet at their best, while they also learnt from losing 5-1 to Celtic in early September.

He told Rangers TV: "The positives from the last Celtic game are that we actually learnt from it.

"We came back and dissected the game as a group together and we sat and spoke about what ifs and we should have done this, that and the other", Gilks continued.

"We could improve from what we actually did that day and the games since then we have been better and better every game and we are getting close to where we need to be.

"There is a long way to go but we are doing okay without actually hitting our stride yet.

"We just looked at the game from Friday night [against Inverness] and have again gone through it and looked at what we could change, what we could do and we are always looking to improve."

Gilks has been all but a regular between the sticks for Rangers in the League Cup and will be desperate to feature against Celtic on Sunday as the Gers look for both revenge and a spot in the final.
