Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stressed the importance of sustaining his side’s form for the rest of the season in order to challenge for the Premier League title.

After suffering a loss at the hands of Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season, the Gunners have not lost another game and are currently level on points with league leaders Manchester City.




Wenger admits that there is a rich vein of form running through his squad at the moment and a lot of it is to do with the consistency they have shown, but he feels there is more to come from his players.

However, he admits that to challenge for the league title at the end of the season his squad need to show that they have the quality and strength in them to remain consistent for the rest of the campaign.
 


The Frenchman said in a press conference: “We are consistent at the moment.

“I think there is more to come out from my team, but the confidence is there because of the consistency.

“They have the hunger and desire to do well.”

When asked whether Arsenal can win the title this season, Wenger said: “We have to show that we have the quality and strength to sustain for ten months of the season.”
