Leeds United midfielder Eunan O’Kane admits that joining the club was not a hard decision to make in the summer once the Whites came calling for him.

The Yorkshire giants snapped up the Ireland international from Bournemouth towards the end of the transfer window and O’Kane has quickly established himself as a key performer in Garry Monk’s side.

The midfielder had not been playing regular first team football at Dean Court for a while and with the club signing Jack Wilshere in the summer, he admits that it was not a hard decision for him to leave the Premier League club.

And the 26-year-old has revealed that despite offers from other clubs, once Leeds wanted to sign him it was always going to be an easy decision for him to move to Elland Road.

When asked about his decision to leave a Premier League club for Leeds, O’Kane told TV Yorkshire: “It was an easy decision to make.

“I didn’t play anywhere near enough football that I wanted to; I spoke to Bournemouth and told them that I wanted to go.

"When we got to the situation when they were happy for that to happen, we started speaking to clubs.

“It wasn’t difficult to pick a club of the size of Leeds; there were other clubs interested and until we knew Leeds were going to be off the table, we weren’t really interested in speaking to anyone else.”

O’Kane has already made eight appearances for Leeds this season and is also a full Ireland international with four caps to his name.
