Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn has warned that the Gers have cut out the individual errors they were making, ahead of his side's Scottish League Cup semi-final meeting with Celtic on Sunday.

The Bhoys crushed Rangers the last time the two met, in early September, as they ran out 5-1 winners in the Scottish Premiership fixture between the two teams at Parkhead.

Rangers are getting a quick chance to take revenge and on the biggest stage of all as they lock horns with Celtic at Hampden for a place in the final of the League Cup.

And Waghorn feels that the Gers will head into the game as a confident unit as he believes they have cut out the individual errors which were causing them defensive issues.

Looking back at the 5-1 defeat, Waghorn said via his club's site: "It hurt, it was disappointing, but we learnt a lot from it and it’s how we have moved on from that and as a group I think we have really benefitted from it.

"You learn a lot as a group about each other, what to expect from each individual, how to work as a team moving forward and I think we have cut individual mistakes out – it made us stronger as a group", the Rangers striker added.

Waghorn's words will be put to the test on Sunday when Rangers go up against Brendan Rodgers' Celtic side.

Rangers have had a free week to prepare for the fixture, while Celtic have been on Champions League duty.
