Victor Moses has explained that the Chelsea players are concentrating and working together as a team to make new manager Antonio Conte’s three-man defensive formation a success.

Conte, who took charge of Chelsea in the summer, prefers playing three at the back, which was evident during his managerial spell at Juventus, with the 47-year-old also implementing similar tactics with the Italian national team.

The Blues have thus far played two games with a three-man defence and have won both comfortably.

Hull City were beaten 2-0 before the international break; the fixture at the KCOM Stadium was the first time Conte’s new formation was unleased before champions Leicester City fell prey to it last weekend, losing 3-0.

And Moses insisted that Chelsea are working hard as a unit, trying to minimise mistakes to make the new system successful.

“The most important thing is concentrating, which we are doing at the moment”, he told Chelsea TV, when asked about Conte’s new formation.

“We started the [new] formation against Hull City and I think it worked very well for us.

“Every one of us are very focused, no one wants to make a mistake, we are all encouraging each other on the pitch. It’s all about teamwork and working hard together as a team.

“We are concentrating at the moment so that we get the best out of us and what the manager is doing at the moment is trying to get the best out of us so that we keep doing well.”

Chelsea, who are currently fifth in the Premier League table, will next face Manchester United on Sunday.
