Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has stoked the rivalry with Arsenal by mocking the Gunners for failing to beat newly promoted Middlesbrough at the Emirates Stadium, with the Premier League fixture ending 0-0.

Arsenal, who headed into the game on the back of a 6-0 drubbing of Ludogorets Razgrad in the Champions League, with Mesut Ozil scoring a hat-trick, were tipped to make short work of Boro.

But Aitor Karanka's men gave as good as they got against the Gunners and even had chances to score themselves, fighing Arsenal until the end to take a point with a 0-0 draw.

And Cundy wasted no time in laying the pain on Arsenal fans by mocking Arsene Wenger's side for failing to put Boro to the sword.

Cundy, a Chelsea TV presenter and pundit, wrote on Twitter in reply to an Arsenal fan: "I missed the Boro result.

Arsenal's failure to beat Middlesbrough meant they could not take advantage of title rivals Tottenham Hotspur dropping points away at Bournemouth earlier in the day.

Cundy's Chelsea meanwhile are next in action on Sunday against Manchester United and victory would move Antonio Conte's men just a point behind Arsenal, despite them having lost comprehensively to the Gunners earlier this season.
