Jordan Henderson has refused to be drawn on title talk despite Liverpool moving joint top of the Premier League by comfortably seeing off West Brom 2-1.

Liverpool quickly took control of the game at Anfield and had a number of chances before they eventually took the lead in the 20th minute through Sadio Mane.

It was a good move from the Reds to cut the Baggies open, involving Emre Can, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino before Mane was found and the summer signing made no mistake by slotting past Ben Foster.

Liverpool kept pushing and grabbed a second in the 35th minute, Coutinho getting on the end of a pass from Mane, avoiding a challenge from Craig Dawson and picking his spot, which was the near post.

Despite Liverpool being rampant though, West Brom restricted the damage and headed it at half time just 2-0 down.

Liverpool remained on top as the second half got under way and Firmino almost made it 3-0 in the 56th minute, but saw Foster block his effort.

Foster then made another good save soon after as he stopped a Dejan Lovren header.

West Brom kept hanging on and got their reward when Gareth McAuley was left alone and eventually got on the end of a ball played in from a corner to volley past Loris Karius.

But the visitors had no further tricks left up their sleeve and slumped to a 2-1 loss.

Liverpool are now joint top of the Premier League with Arsenal, on 20 points, but Henderson, despite being happy with his side's display, does not want to get involved in title talk yet.

He told BT Sport: "We were disappointed conceding from a set piece as we had worked on that. We had handled it well until the goal.

"From that point on, they lumped the ball forward to put pressure on us, we coped with it well to see the game out.

"First half we were very good with the ball, it got a bit nervy after their goal. We need to build on that and stop the goal from the set piece.

"It is too early for that talk [on a title push], we have to concentrate on each game, it is a  bonus teams around us dropped points but the main aim for us is to get three points."
