Garth Crooks has saluted Winston Reid, who he feels has been superb for West Ham United in his last two games.

Reid clocked up all 90 minutes in West Ham's away win over Crystal Palace on 15th October, while on Saturday he played a key role in the Hammers beating Sunderland at the London Stadium.

The New Zealand international popped up in injury time, taking advantage of a West Ham corner to turn and shoot, firing into the back of the net and securing the home side all three points.

And he earned praise from former Tottenham star Crooks, who was watching on as he performed pundit duties.

"Winston Reid has been outstanding for the last two games by the way", Crooks said on the BBC's Final Score programme.

Crooks also believes that lady luck has smiled on West Ham of late, something they badly needed due to their struggles in the London Stadium.

"This comes at a great time for West Ham because I think they are struggling in this new stadium.

"It was 0-0, they got a lucky break last week, they get another lucky break this week, but hey, you take luck when it comes", he added.

West Ham take a break from Premier League duty on Wednesday night when they welcome Chelsea to the London Stadium for an EFL Cup tie.

They are next in league action on Sunday 30th October, when a visit to Goodison Park to play Everton is on the cards.
