Kemar Roofe insists the amount Leeds United paid to sign him from Oxford United has not even crossed his mind this term, as he battles to secure a regular spot in the side.

The striker-cum-winger has featured in the side for Leeds of late, being handed his chance following an injury picked up by Stuart Dallas on international duty with Northern Ireland.

Leeds paid £3m to sign Roofe, who was last season's League Two Player of the Year and much was expected of the former West Brom man.

He has spent the majority of this season on the fringes at Elland Road, but Roofe insists that he has not been preoccupied with the large outlay the Whites made to sign him.

Asked whether he has spent time thinking about the fee Leeds paid for him, Roofe told BBC Radio Leeds: "No, to be honest I haven't even thought about that one bit.

"It doesn't affect me one bit."

And Roofe does not believe the amount Leeds paid for him necessarily should weigh heavily on his shoulders, as the striker pointed out that there are a whole host of players who have cost their respective clubs more.

"It doesn't mean anything because there are players out there worth more than me, so it's nothing", he said.

"I'm just here to show what I can do."

Roofe had a big hand in Leeds' goal in their 1-0 win away at Wolves on Saturday, something which put the Whites back on the winning track.
