Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Spurs will accept the FA's charge relating to midfielder Moussa Sissoko and will move forward expecting a three-match ban, which means he will miss the north London derby.

The FA revealed via a statement that they have charged the midfielder with violent conduct following an elbowing incident during the Bournemouth match at the weekend.

The Tottenham new recruit has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the charge, though the manager insists that they won't be appealing.

Speaking about the turn of events leading up to the ban, Pochettino said that when he saw the incident on television he realised that Sissoko's actions were not intentional, but the elbow did in fact catch Bournemouth Harry Arter on the face and now they have to accept the verdict.

"We have reviewed the video. We accept the charge and now we move forward", Pochettino told a press conference.

"After the game it was difficult when I was asked about the action.

"It was true that it was difficult for me to appreciate the situation of what happened.

"But when I saw it on TV I need to say there was no intention but the elbow was in the face of Arter, that's clear.

"We accept the charge, and now we need to move forward, and expect a three-match ban."

Sissoko is expected to be banned for Tuesday night's EFL Cup tie away at Liverpool, along with Premier League games against Leicester City and Arsenal.
