Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Michel Vorm will be in goal when his side take on Liverpool in an EFL Cup tie on Tuesday night.

Pochettino is keen for Spurs to make progress in the competition, but he is also determined to make sure Vorm stays match sharp and insists he has full confidence in the Dutch custodian.




Speaking to Spurs TV, Pochettino said: "It is important that everyone in the squad feels they can play.

"Michel Vorm will play. He is very experienced and a top goalkeeper."
 


The Spurs manager also provided a squad update, explaining that centre-back Toby Alderweireld is unavailable for the trip to Anfield, as is youngster Marcus Edwards. Harry Kane meanwhile is continuing his recovery.

Spurs head into the match at Anfield on the back of a draw away at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

Liverpool meanwhile won their weekend league game, seeing off West Brom 2-1 at Anfield to move joint top of the table.
