Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to see a good atmosphere generated at the London Stadium when his side play West Ham United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

Conte is keen for his side to do well in the EFL Cup as they are not involved in European competition this season. The Italian has been pleased with his experience in English football so far, explaining he regularly is impressed with the atmosphere on offer at grounds.

West Ham's new ground, the London Stadium, has been criticised for losing atmosphere due to the fact it is an athletics stadium being used as a football stadium, which means the stands are a long way from the pitch.

Conte is hoping that there is still a good atmosphere at the game though and is hopeful that will be the case given the rivalry between the teams.

"I hope to see a good atmosphere", Conte told a press conference.

"I know these two teams are big rivals.

"But in England the atmosphere is fantastic during the game, during the match and I hope to see [the same at the London Stadium]", he added.

West Ham have improved their form of late to climb up the Premier League table to 15th spot, but the Hammers are still struggling to adapt to life at the London Stadium.

And Conte's Chelsea can make the task even tougher if they head to the ground and knock West Ham out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
