Leeds United Under-23 coach Jason Blunt has stated that he is hopeful about his side starting a run, following their 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in a Professional Development League fixture on Monday.

The young Whites, who headed into the game on the back of a 4-0 loss to Hull City earlier in the month, scored the only goal of the match at Thorp Arch through Eoghan Stokes on the brink of half-time.

Leeds goalkeeper Ross Turnbull then saved Ben Brerton’s penalty late on to help the hosts bag the full three points.

It was the first time Leeds managed to keep a clean sheet in the current campaign, and Blunt thinks the hard fought victory against Nottingham Forest will make his charges understand how to grind out results.

The 39-year-old went on to add that he hopes the win will help Leeds to string a good run together, with his side managing just three victories in 10 league games this season thus far.

“It is the first clean sheet we've kept this season”, Blunt told LUTV.

“Hopefully they will understand what it takes to grind results out.

“So hopefully it’s a start and hopefully we can get a run together.”

Leeds are currently eighth in the standings with 12 points from 10 outings.
