Leeds United winger Kemar Roofe admits that he is ready to play anywhere to earn more game time and more opportunities to get used to his new team-mates at Elland Road.

The 23-year-old forward made a name for himself at Oxford United last season when he became League Two’s Player of the Year and helped his former side to win promotion to League One.

Leeds snapped up the former West Brom academy player in the summer, but Roofe has failed to have the same kind of impact and lost his place in the starting eleven after a couple of tepid performances.

He returned to the starting eleven last week and scored the winning goal against Wolves on Saturday to restore some of the faith Garry Monk showed in him in recent matches.

For Oxford he played as the attacking focal point, but at Leeds he has been used more on the wings and Roofe stressed his position doesn’t matter as long as he receives more opportunities to get used to regular Championship football.

“Last season I played up front and down the middle”, Roofe was quoted as saying by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“But I just want to play.

"For me it’s all about getting game time and getting used to everything – getting used to the tempo of the Championship and getting used to my team-mates.

“They need to get used to me too and when all that goes to plan, I’m sure it’ll be good.”
