Trent Alexander-Arnold has expressed his delight after making his senior competitive debut for Liverpool in their 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in an EFL Cup game on Tuesday night.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who made eleven changes to the team last night from the one that played against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, handed the 18-year-old his first team debut at Anfield against Spurs.

Alexander-Arnold put in an assured performance in the right-back role before being substituted in favour of first choice Nathaniel Clyne in the 68th minute, with Liverpool being up by two goals at that time.

And the starlet, who is an England Under-19 international, was ecstatic to make his first appearance for his boyhood club at Anfield.

“Competitive debut at Anfield. What a night!” he tweeted, along with a picture of himself during the game.
