Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has expressed his satisfaction at seeing the club's youngsters put in an impressive shift in the EFL Cup against Tottenham Hotspur.

Jurgen Klopp gave young players a chance to play in the 2-1 win at Anfield as he made a whopping eleven changes from the last side he fielded, in the Premier League.

Ovie Ejaria, Marko Grujic and Kevin Stewart formed part of the diamond midfield along with Wijnaldum as Liverpool managed as many as nine shots on target during the entire course of the 90 minutes, compared to Tottenham's five.

The Dutchman was more than impressed with what he saw from the three players and believes that it is just a prelude to more good things to come from the Liverpool youth academy.

According to the former Newcastle United man, it is natural for young players to get nervous when it comes to big games. But there was hint of that in the trio, which was more than impressive.
