Leeds United striker Chris Wood feels the Whites are finally showing the consistency needed to succeed as a team this season.

After a slow start to their campaign, the Yorkshire giants have been in a good run since last month and even secured their place in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night at the expense of Norwich City.

Leeds are just three points off the playoff spot and despite a few hiccups, they have had some good results in the Championship since last month and Wood feels the Whites are getting consistent enough to succeed in the league.

The New Zealand international has stressed that the start to the season was always expected to be slow because of the widespread changes that happened at the club, both in terms of a change in management and the playing squad.

However, he feels the Leeds players are finally gelling together, which has led to their recent run of form.

Asked about Leeds’ run of form, the striker told LUTV: “Well, that’s what we always wanted, consistency, and that’s what we have always tried to bring to this club.

“It was always going to be a slow start because we have got a lot of new players, new management and it was always going to take time to gel.

“I think we have done that now, we are getting together, we know each other and we know how we play and it’s all about showing it on the pitch.”
