Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is delighted to have returned to training with the first team squad after recovering from a thigh injury.

The Spaniard has been out of action for a couple of weeks with a thigh problem and was not included in the squad for Chelsea’s Premier League wins over Leicester and Manchester United and the EFL Cup defeat at West Ham on Wednesday night.

Antonio Conte has revealed that the midfielder won’t be making the trip to the south coast for Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Southampton, but he is back in training.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona man is pleased to finally train with his team-mates after being laid low due to his injury problems over the last fortnight.

The Spaniard took to Twitter and wrote: “Good to be back with the team.
