Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is confident that in the future Harry Kane will be in the running for the FIFA Ballon d'Or.

FIFA recently released the 30-man shortlist for the award, with Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris making the cut.

Kane, who is currently out of action injured, was left off the list, but Pochettino feels that the England striker still has plenty of time to make the cut in future editions of the prestigious prize.

And he is sure that Kane will eventually make his way onto the shortlist for the Ballon d'Or.

Pochettino told a press conference: "It’s always tough to be on that list. Hugo Lloris is on the list and I’m very happy for him.

"Harry is still very young and be sure in the future he will have a chance to be on that list", the Argentine added.

So far this season Kane has been restricted to just six games in all competitions, due to injury, and has netted twice, in what has been a slow start to the campaign.

Last term the 23-year-old powered Tottenham's push for the Premier League title and scored 28 goals in 50 games in all competitions.
