Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has rubbished reports linking his club with a move for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

Reports in Spain have linked the Argentine striker with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, with clubs such as Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea being linked with a move for the player.

However, Aguero's countryman has insisted that there is no truth to reports linking the player with a move to White Hart Lane.

Asked by reporters at a press conference on Friday about whether there was truth to the stories, the manager said: "Not true, 100 per cent not true."

Aguero, who has been Manchester City's mainstay in attack for the last few seasons hasn't been guaranteed a starting spot by current manager Pep Guardiola.

The player was in fact kept out of the starting eleven for his side's last Champions League clash against Barcelona, with the Spanish manager insisting that it was a tactical decision on his part.

Guardiola though clarified his stance by saying that the club won't force Aguero out and any decision to leave rested on the player himself.

"If Sergio decides to leave it will be his decision", Guardiola had stated last week.
